Mission
To seek out and create living spaces where young students from out of town can feel at home, even when far from home, as well as to present ourselves as the ideal tenants for those who want to rent out an apartment with complete peace of mind, benefiting from a guaranteed income without any obligations.
This is what ABITABO is all about, the project in Bologna – the oldest university city in the world, where hospitality is a true “brand value” – that brings passion, expertise, and professionalism to the table to always find the most suitable solution for the needs of out-of-town students, workers, travelers for medical or other reasons, and property owners. Always striving to do better, adding taste and attentiveness, mixed with proactivity and empathy.

Pietro Carucci was born in 1975 in Taranto, and after earning his diploma as a surveyor, he moved to Bologna in 1997, which would become his adopted city. He spent his early University years with classmates who would shape and accompany him during the most important moments of his life, those being an out-of-town student.
And those who have lived the “out-of-town student” experience at least once in their lives perfectly know what it means: desperately searching for a roof over their head, preparing the same old spaghetti with tuna, trying to live with roommates who are more or less compatible – but not always ideal, fully experiencing a fascinating and unknown city.
After several extremely stimulating work experiences, he began to gain more significant insight in the commercial sector, where he quickly learned that “behind every number there is a meaning… there is a person!”
Today, after more than 20 years of experience in the Bologna real estate sector, he decided to take on a new challenge and found ABITABO, with the aim of continuing to manage properties for the greater satisfaction of Bologna’s homeowners, who deserve more attention than a large, sometimes distracted, corporate organization can offer. He also aims to offer the best housing solutions to out-of-town students he will continue to meet along his new path.
“Every single student, parent, worker, Erasmus student, colleague, supplier, every single property I’ve crossed paths with during my personal and professional journey, as well as every property I’ve visited, observed, and experienced, is now a part of me.”
Missionary boarding school for missionaries.
Missionary boarding school for missionaries.
The Missionary Boarding School for Missionaries was created about a century ago at the initiative of the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Dehonian Fathers), as a training house for candidates to the priesthood. Many religious Dehonians, after their ordination, left this house to go to mission fields.
Over time, the structure has transformed, striving to maintain its vocation as a place of hospitality, growth, study, training, work, and socialization, catering to out-of-town University students and those coming to Bologna for medical care, work, and other needs. Within the Missionary Boarding School, ABITABO is responsible for managing the area dedicated to the Campus for out-of-town University students and the rooms intended for short-medium term stays.
The Missionary College is located within the area of the “Villaggio del Fanciullo” (Village of the Child), a place of coexistence for a network of entities and projects primarily focused on training and social engagement.
This coexistence is a great enrichment for the organizations that are part of it.
